Blood Libel

I just found out about the newest form of blood libel, this time against the Chinese. Someone here posted a link claiming that the Chinese ate babies, which is untrue & reported in a untrustworthy tabloid.
What do you think of blood libels? Is it really that shocking that they still exist?
