I'm trying to relate this to driving. You said Indian taxi drivers are very reckless in India but they are far more careful in Australia. Meanwhile, Italian drivers are very reckless and so are some Australian drivers. Why would Indian taxi drivers have a shift in consciousness on moving to Australia? After all, if they'd moved to Italy they would be driving like the Italians.

Slowly, slowly you are getting there.
A shift in consciousness will always happen especially when the things change.
It can happen for the best as well as the worse according to many factors.
Good company always help and bad one always lead to degradation.
So a good environment and a bad one do the same for the better or the worse.

People can still be on a spiritual path while being atheists.

It is very funny.
Almost everybody travel toward the goal of life.
Some smart people have a good vision of this goal by believing that the big ocean of consciousness or God is the goal.
Other people still travel toward this goal with the idea that the goal is not God (atheist) but after sometime when the goal get more clear they admit that God exist.
In this way they make the travel extra hard for themselves.
Now you may ask why an atheist travel toward the goal.
Human aspirations are INfinite not finite so how it is ever possible to find solutions to INFINITE aspiration within a finite arena or universe?
These people think that this universe can give peace of mind and happiness but that is not possible.
Have you ever seen anyone real happy with material or physical things?
These people are living in the fairy Ape.
Spirituality come when you can understand clearly the goal of life.
Until that it is only a big confusion belief.

Which, I'm guessing, means that all the gods and goddesses are really aspects of The One.

When the spirituality get deeper and deeper you stop worrying about the many to concentrate on the only one.
The sooner the better.

God, wholeness and transcendence etc. etc. are psychological realities but there's no real proof that God exists as an objective reality. This doesn't matter, though, with Jungian psychology because the objective is the psychological, inner reality. You keep saying that God is within and inwards is where Jungian psychology takes you.

I'm not worried about Apollo and Goddess Earth, etc. because I have to work with the symbols which my unconscious sends me, If it's God sending me these symbols it's obviously the ones that he/she/it wants me to work with.

Grandma was always saying that the quality is more important than the quantity beside i don't have the time to spend too much time on the net.
Not only in this forum but in most of the forums we got people who spend so much time writing tons of garbage.
Little but good is much better than a lot of garbage.

When you say........objective reality.......you already gone off tracks.
Objective come from object and an object is something material.
What God has to do with something material only.....God....knows.

You tend to forget something.
As you try to tune a station before you get the correct tune you experience some static noise.
The same thing happen when you listen to your consciousness.
If your tune is not correct it is obvious that you may experience Apollo or father Christmas but as soon as you get the correct tune all the unreal disappear to let the real appear.
The consciousness can not be blame for send you the unreal.
It is rather you that got to work out how to tune properly.
