The redneck strike again.

Long story short: You keep making wild leaps to conclusions with no evidence to back them up other than conjecture. You have no solid evidence, just your own personal delusions. Just like a schizophrenic, you are convinced your truth is the truth, no matter how much reality proves otherwise. And just like a schizophrenic, there is no point debating anything reasonable with you, because just like a schizophrenic, the part of your brain that deals with logic is irreparably impaired and/or damaged.Sucks to be you, hombre. Not my problem if you wanna convince yourself that magnets can cure cancer and crystals will make you live forever or whatever other horseshit you put your baseless faith into.
After all, it's suckers like you that provide the intellectual cushion for people like me to walk on.

Please, let us hear about the reality that proves otherwise. Cool Shades

It's my fault it keeps going because I'm enjoying this topic. Riketto is giving me all kinds of leads for researching interesting things. Smile

What if an emphasis on 'my liberation' 'my good karma' 'my body in my next life' earns bad karma if we aren't concerned with what gets harmed so don't bother working to save the planet and living things on it? I shall carry on being materialistic because I've never found any convincing evidence that being at one with the universe or whatever is anything more than a subjective experience. While I'm here I'll carry on being concerned about animal welfare, humans rights and ecology. If this means I'll come back as a rat next time round because reincarnation is real and I'm not spiritual enough I'll still be a manifestation of Brahman. Tongue

The problem with believing or not believing in something is that
the consciousness of believing or not come as you are interested
or not in that something.
To get interested in something you got first to feel the need for
a change and feel that THAT something can help you in sorting out
some problem that you may have.
If on the other hand you are happy as you are why worry about
anything else?
Suppose you practice some martial art and you got a particular belt
or you are studying something in year 1.
Before you may wish to upgrade to year 2 or getting more skill in
martial arts you understand that you need to get skilled in year 1 or
in that particular belt.
Unconsciously you may feel the need to upgrade immediately but
your conscious side tell you to wait until you perfect what you are doing.
Now you care about global issues but i am sure that sooner or later
something else will start kicking within.
That new feeling will not tell you to give up what you are doing now
and start something else.
It rather will tell you to get a better tool to give more strength to your
fight for emancipation.
But that will not be the end.
That feeling of something missing will kick the door of your consciousness
again and again until you reach the very top of human emancipation so i would speculate
at this stage whether what you got at the moment is the ultimate or not. Cool Shades

False.

I can be interested in the Harry Potter books, but it does not mean Harry Potter is more than a fictional character.

You ignored that part of my post where I asked you if your beliefs had anything to do with The Basic Concepts of Advaita Vedanta. If it's not that version of Hindu philosophy, could you please link to a relevant article describing which philosophy you do follow. It would help me to understand what you're talking about.

Very very silly point.
A drunkard or a junkie will feel that his consciousness tell him
that wine or drugs are good for him.
At the same time my consciousness tell me that these items
are like dung so who is right and who is wrong?
All depend what path you have chosen.
Everything in this universe is moving.
One force try to tell you to go up toward human emancipation.
An other force tell you the opposite.
The force that tell you to go down is still part of you so how
it is possible that your consciousness tell you the wrong thing?
This is all about what you have chosen.
The positive (yang) and the negative (yin) are there all the
time.
It is up to you to choose the one who suit you most.
Nothing new under the stars boy. Smile

Your argument is absurd, because you are attempting to erroneously compare interest in literature with drug addiction. Therefore, you fail miserably.

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
