I agree it is weird for a superpower to wade into a local conflict and the USA to not be involved....

EU threatens sanctions if Russia doesn't "deescalate" the situation.
In other news, "deescalate" is the new "get the fuck out."
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

And you felt the same way when bully nations invaded Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and most recently wanted to Syria, yes? Or when sovereign countries are bombed by our drones... You're strongly against that, right?

Foreign Policy has never been barack's strong point. If barack hasn't the will to follow through with his threats of "there will be consequences", then he needs to keep his big mouth shut and stop drawing red lines in the sand. Barack is a weak leader. Putin's not afraid of us. He knows barack doesn't have the will or the backbone to be taken seriously.

How has their foreign policy worked out? Barack's not throwing out red lines to intimidate nations... he's throwing out red meat to the war-mongers back home.

Actually, all flippancy aside, I'm really quite worried about this. Putin has his hand on the gas supply to the UK. If he chooses, Britain goes dark.
Well, time to increase the armoury and apocalypse stash again.

So when the gas goes, law and order breaks down and mobs roam the street, I've not been stockpiling food for the the better armed people. That's one for each hand now . Sigh. Time was when I got nervous about being able to look after my family all I had to do was pray
