Prions accumulate mostly in the nervous system, not just brain.

Kuru spread mainly to those who didn't eat mainly the muscle tissues, however due to the proteinaceous nature of the pathogen, it can after a critical point, appear within solution in the pulmonary system and spread to the muscles, making them infectious vectors.

Yikes! I had not heard that, but I presume it's not the same kind of prions. In any case, if they're airborne, not eating people won't do much to stop it. If not for you, I would now be in the 'don't eat people, prions!' camp thanks to the point that Moros made. Hopefully Moros can weigh in on this airborne thing as well. Meanwhile, I will try not to breathe so much.
