Also I got interested in math.

I'd have said that there is no dividing line between society and terrorists. No offense but some of the stuff your IDF has gotten up to has been quantitatively no different to what the Palestinians do.

What a busy career you've had. I'd assumed you were American. Whats it like being an Atheist living in Israel?

Oh I love israel. I go there often.
I don't like palestinians but when I am talking about society I mean society as a whole. If people would treat each other well within society there would be no terrorists to begin with.
There are many atheists in israel as well.

By the way IDF is MUCH better than Hamas Big Grin
There is no comparison Big Grin

So what, you grew up in Israel, did national service, joined sf, served 10 years then emigrated to America? What is it you do now?

I emigrated to scandinavia. I am on the way to become mathematician/physicist. I like mathematics but I like to see practical appliancation of my works so I will do physics to.
I also plan to open little martial arts club.
Then I might travel around the world and come back to israel at some point.

And you still in your 20's. Very interesting career shift from generic military to ten years in SF to emigrating to another country to become a student.

Quite hard to find a job in pure science BTW. Usually if you want to do something like maths you have to get a job teaching post graduate stuff, which is hard to do if you're still training at undergraduate level. "Physicist" isn't really a job per se. Its training you use in other jobs.

RE: Krav Maga
Haven't read the whole thread so sorry if this is repetitive, but FWIW...

In my TKD class we also learn some jiu jitsu. IMO JJ is probably the best for street fight situations because you're not going to need to hurt the other guy. Don't want to end up in jail yourself. Our teacher also says that most fights end up on the ground, so we learn some basic wrestling, too, and I suppose BJJ would be excellent training as well.

That said, any training is likely to be helpful. Assuming that you do your best to avoid fight situations but this is unavoidable, simply taking a stance and giving a good kiyup could be enough to slow them down and let you get away. A lot of would-be attackers will figure there's easier prey and move on.

Why bother fighting someone who is gonna be tortured by god for eternity?

From what I have seen of Krav Maga, it is very much Go Ju Ru with the main difference being the end result.....my training was to incapacitate.....Krav Maga uses my same techniques but to kill instead....both are extremely effective.

I humored you once, but that's it. Another blatant non sequitor and you're going on my Ignore list.

Indubitably
There is much to be said for flexibility. The techniques one might employ in a bar may be different to those one might employ if someone came at you in a dark alley.

And mind tor. Non sequitors are what he does best. Bit of a cheap dig.
