Needing some help with Discrete

RE: Needing some help with Discrete
What is the name of the course again?

What I tell my students when I TA,

* Collaborate! You have to hand in the homework separately, but communication and discussion if the materal witg fellow students is very important

* Get a well written book on the subject besides the lecture notes. Sometimes, lecture notes from other profs help.

*get an idea how much time this homework is designed to take. My maths sheets were designed for 10 hours, and that usually meant that for the first two, I had no clue what I was supposed to do

It's 'Discrete Structures' but it's normally called 'Discrete Mathematics'.

Ah, since im not a comp sci guy I haven't had this class ever, the things in your sheet were contained in the introductory parts of my first year analysis and linear algebra lectures, so I can't really give you specific tips for the entire class. There must be a computet scientist around. Tiberius maybe?

When assignments are scanned into a document scanner and posted to BB, it is common for there to be screwups regarding exponents. It used to happen to me in my classes all the time. We would normally post questions like that directly onto the blackboard site and the prof would clarify. Sometimes the problem is a lazy TA who doesn't want to use the equation editor in MS Word, but it doesn't look like that's what happened here, because they used the union and intersection symbols there.

TL: DR version: I think that is supposed to be x^2
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
