I perceive that is called a straw man.
"Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys."
We didn't write the goddamn book.
Quote:God never ordered the cutting of babies as far as I remember.
Hosea 13:16 "The people of Samaria must bear their guilt, because they have rebelled against their God. They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open."
Thank God so many babies were slaughtered, who knows what kind of bullshit they'd have gotten up to.

Ryan, what you quoted in Hosea was a prophesy. Men did it.
The Amalekites were constantly attacking Israel, they were also genetically linked to the giants of the pre-flood world whom God destroyed (there were giants in the earth in those days and AFTERWARD- the offspring of the Nephelem (fallen angels).
Again, a satanically corrupted genetic line.
Interestingly, in our day what are the scientists playing with?
Genetics.

This is rich.
If you believe the flood narrative is fact - we are ALL descended from one man: Noah. If the Amalekites had the blood of Nephelim, then so do we all - including the Isrealites, and including you.
Do you even think through your ad hoc assertions before making them?

It depends on which of his sons. The bad guys are decended from the son that raped Noah while he was drunk. The good guys are from the other two. Or so the bible would have us believe.

I thought the "giants" were the dinosaurs that walked with man 5,000 years ago. They had tails, compared to ceder trees.
Or so I'm told.

You mean to tell me god created evil corrupt giants that once walked the earth and corrupted a human blood line and god just watched?
"A satanically corrupted genetic line" so every baby born into that genetic line had no say in being corrupted by Satan and they're the bad guys?
PM me if you know where this is from "...knees in the breeze" and don't look it up!!

This might explain YHWH's inclination to punish children for crimes committed four generations ago, and why he tends to kill the children at the same time he's killing the parents.
Although, given that he knows the future anyway, he probably knows how they'll turn out and has no problem punishing them for sins yet to be committed.

Let me give the classic answer, since no one has mentioned it yet.
- Does God tell us not to kill? No. He tells us not to murder. Kill : lawful taking of life. Murder : unlawful taking of life
- Does God kill? Yes
- Why doesn't he have to follow the no-killing rule? Because there isn't one

See? Christian circular logic solves everything! Just add -because God and anything you like becomes true!
Typical answer from a thoughtless morons perspective. Ignorance is the stance of some atheists, and rampant is clearly more ignorant than most.
