Calling The Cops on Jesus!

Calling The Cops on Jesus!
Don't you just love xtians? Such shits.

http://www.npr.org/2014/04/13/302019921/...-community

Quote:The statue depicts Jesus as a vagrant sleeping on a park bench. St. Alban's Episcopal Church installed the homeless Jesus statue on its property in the middle of an upscale neighborhood filled with well-kept townhomes.

Jesus is huddled under a blanket with his face and hands obscured; only the crucifixion wounds on his uncovered feet give him away.

The reaction was immediate. Some loved it; some didn't.

"One woman from the neighborhood actually called police the first time she drove by," says David Boraks, editor of DavidsonNews.net. "She thought it was an actual homeless person."

That's right. Somebody called the cops on Jesus.

It fits with the state of the world. If Jesus was to exist today, making the same claims he did more than two thousand years ago, the so-called Christian theists would be all too happy to label him a communist hippy that needed to be crucified.

Irony!

As an ex-Christian, that was actually a theme that would occasionally get brought up in church.

A real life example of xtians trying to help the homeless being stopped by other bible-belt fuckheads.

http://rt.com/usa/north-carolina-police-...eless-019/

Quote:A non-profit organization says North Carolina police threatened to arrest members of the charity group for distributing food to more than 70 homeless people in downtown Raleigh on Saturday morning.

Love Wins Ministries, a church group that tries to care for the city’s homeless, was preparing to serve breakfast on Saturday. The group had free coffee and sausage biscuits for more than 70 homeless people, but local police stopped the non-profit from handing it out. Police officers threatened to arrest anyone who tried to distribute food, claiming it violates one of the city’s ordinances but refusing to say which one.

I think that the whole group should have continued to pass out free food and gotten themselves arrested. Arrested for giving away food -- that would make an interesting and very telling court case.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste -- don't pollute it with bullshit.

Xtianity is a double-edged sword, and the dull side cuts more often than not.

I think you'll find it was the "my mumma owns the local cafe" ordinance.

well, they did. And they killed him.
But anyway. The point of the statue is that every person should be treated as you would treat the person you idolize or love the most. How would you represent this notion in one simple statue? With having to cry like girl about how you hate other people that think different than you?
