Christians are showing their persecution cards again.

The American Family Association has claimed that it is impossible for Christians to work in a large range of different professions, because ‘homosexuals’ will ‘wreck’ their careers.

Writing to promote its new iPhone app, the group claimed that gay rights activists ‘pro-actively’ stop Christians working as broadcasters, counsellors, photographers, bakers, florists, teachers, or innkeepers.

The group said: “Many Christians choose self-employed careers because they want to be able to run their business according to the dictates of their faith and conscience.

“That list is quickly shrinking as homosexuals pro-actively seek opportunities to wreck the personal business and career of any Christian who declines to support the gay lifestyle.

“Don’t be fooled. This is a focused effort to ostracise and humiliate faith-based businesses and their owners.”

The group claim their new app will allow them to mobilize people to lobby businesses, and help people “effectively engage the culture when our Christian brothers and sister come under attack from homosexual aggression”.

You left out the part about the next man's right....which is essentially your error. You only see one perspective. You only see one person's rights and ignore the others.

Because Heywood it's not legally feasible to allow every person the right to choose whether or not they recognize every other persons marriage. It would be chaos. Would we have to have a vote in each place we choose to live in or visit to find out whether or not we are married? Could I be married in my apartment complex and at walmart but not at work or the supermarket? Could I be married at my aunts house but when I walk into my mothers home I am no longer legally married until I leave. What if she not only chooses to not recognize my marriage but also to not recognize my previous divorce because it's against her morals? Will I still be married to my ex husband when I am visiting at her house?

A minimum wage was imposed and which allowed discrimination to go un-punished(if you have to pay 10.10 an hour...might as well hire your white friends kid instead of the black kid that would have worked for 8.00 an hour). It cut the legs off the economic ladder so blacks could not climb out of poverty after slavery was abolished.

Let the free market work and the bigots will be punished. Trying to limit people freedom to choose causes bigger problems.

You have an uncanny ability to turn every conversation to a discussion on minimum wage. I commend you for being so ambitious about your political beliefs.

Most business would happily recognize your marriage if you have cash to buy their products. The ones that don't will be at a competitive disadvantage. Eventually they will be driven out of business completely unless laws(like minimum wage and such) are passed to prop up their businesses.

It's an interesting but short-sighted argument. Businesses that do discriminate often get extra business from Christians who support their discrimination. When Chick-fil-A announced its opposition to gay marriage, tons of Christians decided that it was their Christian duty to support Chick-fil-A.

Because hate begets hate. Those who grow up to be bigots learned it either from their religion, someone in the family, or both.
