I think it's coming. But they didn't really impress the importance of Benjen Stark to Jon in the series, if it's him then maybe they won't.
I'm more concerned on the betrayal story of Jorah Mormont not happening yet.
For me it's the little things they changed, seemingly for no reason. Changing Vargo Hoat's name to Locke, Jaime and Brienne present at Joff's wedding, Arya never added Walder Frey, Melisandre, Beric Dondarrion or Thoros of Myr to her death prayer, Bronn training Jaime, not Illyn Payne, and so much more.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Yeah... we may never get a coldhands... Or maybe he's somehow related to that "temple" we were treated to a few episodes ago... more on this in 2 seasons!
ahh.... I think the Vargo Hoat to Locke change was unfortunate...
They picked out the perfect actor to play Vargo Hoat, the Goat... but then didn't capitalize on it... oh well, maybe they thought it was yet another strange name that people would never get. Still, a casting shame.
As for Jorah... indeed... he should have been out for a while, now.... to return in a long time from now They must want to keep the actor around, so chose to go this way... maybe he'll go away when Daenerys is to be married, or something.
Bronn training Jaime is another blunder... But I guess it was done to keep one actor in play, instead of bringing back one that was used once or twice. The whole idea of training in secret is compromised by the fact that he's being trained by a sellsword... Illyn couldn't speak, so that problem was automatically taken care off.

Shouldn't the hound be dead by now?

Indeed..dead or "dying".
It seems, Mr Martin has said somewhere that when some character dies, it will be explicit... if it's not explicit, there's a very good chance that he's not dead...
I don't remember him dying entirely...

Oh---The Hound is not dead. Arya dressed his festering wounds, and by accounts he should be dead, but he is not. He is alive at the monastery on the Quiet Isle, living as a novice. This explains a couple of things---one, why the Elder Brother at the monastery on the Quiet Isle that Brienne talks to in her search for Sansa knows a LOT about Sandor Clegane---too many small details to just have heard about him. And two, it explains the massive man who is digging a grave with a scarf over his face that Brienne sees at the monastery.
Yes---GRRM has stated that when a character dies for good, he will not leave any room for doubt. I cannot find the quote, it is buried in the wiki somewhere.

Good to know that someone was paying attention on that part of Brienne in the Quiet Isle... I just found it very boring and away from the main plot that my interest bottomed out and I just read without thinking... Can't remember that Elder brother knowing anything about Sandor...nor the man digging a grave...

Not that I personally care, but anybody who comes into this thread expecting only spoilers for the show is going to get a nasty surprise. Perhaps the title should indicate the presence of book spoilers.

It was inevitable!
And the OP can't edit the thread's title!

Yeah, if someone is up to date on the series, they might think they're immune to spoilers... WRONG!
