Abortion and Global warming

RE: Abortion and Global warming
I would be interested to know how Heywood defines a 'future person'. Is it just a zygote? Or is it as Brian said? Every guy that masturbates is 'killing' millions of 'future persons' and every woman who ovulates is killing one or more 'future persons'? And for that matter, where does 'personhood' begin?
'The more I learn about people the more I like my dog'- Mark Twain

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House

“Young earth creationism is essentially the position that all of modern science, 90% of living scientists and 98% of living biologists, all major university biology departments, every major science journal, the American Academy of Sciences, and every major science organization in the world, are all wrong regarding the origins and development of life….but one particular tribe of uneducated, bronze aged, goat herders got it exactly right.” - Chuck Easttom

"If my good friend Doctor Gasparri speaks badly of my mother, he can expect to get punched.....You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others. There is a limit." - Pope Francis on freedom of speech

So it's a lot like Chiropractics.

Why must we pull in this bizarre global warming argument? Just tell me why can't a woman have an abortion if she regrets the embryo she made??

They can't even agree on when precisely this is. All they have are non answers to something that shouldn't even be an issue.

Everyone knows that god assigns a soul the moment the spooge leaves the body.
That's why he's so damn adamant about not allowing men to jerk off.

... yeah, the soul-pressing machine was already heavily overworked by the time of King David Confused Fall

If you are pro-life, you should care very much about the environment and leaving the planet in working order for generations to come. The answer as to why some people are not is simple. People are not always consistent with their positions.

This isn't a thread about the morality or immorality of abortion. It is a thread about consistency of positions. If we as individuals have no moral obligation to the unborn then why would we have an obligation to preserve the planet for future generations?

If women have a right not to reproduce then in principle every women could choose not to reproduce....putting an end to humanity. Why can't we present day humans simply decide that our wants and needs supersede the wants and needs of the generations that aren't yet born?

Are you going to make me have a baby if I don't want it for the good of humanity? What if I was humanities only chance?
Are you willing to make me have a baby I don't want even if I don't want it? I can change my mind, after all. I change my mind about having a baby to not having a baby. Now what?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

So that got me wondering. If future generations have a right to a clean and livable earth why don't they have a right to exist? Essentially a conclusion of the pro abortion movement is that future people don't have a right to exist. The right of existence only comes into being after one is born. Well if they don't have a right to exist then they certainly don't have a right to a clean and livable earth.

How does someone who is pro abortion justify fighting against global warming? Do not the rights and needs of the people today supersede the rights and need of future people?
You're wrong abortion doesn't mean future people don't have the right to exist.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.
