Unless you're an actual representative of the state, then NO!

"to advise you that all we wish is for you to go back into the closet."

Why the hell should we? Freedom of expression is a cornerstone of western democracy.

"Keep your atheism to yourself and you won't be bothered."

Bullshit. We'll still have to deal with arseholes trying to push their beliefs into law, stopping us on streetcorners and knowcking on our doors to push their beliefs, and all that other obnoxious shit they get up to when they go unopposed.

"The State has a vested interest in maintaining religious beliefs in society"

No it doesn't. Provide citation of this ludicrous claim

"Remember, after the French revolution, they had to recall all the clergy they had previously exiled."

Remember the Dark Ages - that 800 or 900 years when western society stagnated and basically failed. That was what happened to Europe when the church was in control.

You yourself have shown yourself to be anti science. With the likes of you and conservative Christians in charge of the government, the US would fall back into another Dark Age.

Would you be willing to explain your position in a muslim court of law?

can you please just answer with a YES or NO...

1. I won't be dictated to on how I answer this nonsense
2. What the hell does a muslim court of law have to do with this discussion?
3. Why are you ignoring my points made in asking another inane question?
4. Yes, I would.
5. Would YOU?

I don't believe you.. I don't believe you would . I believe you would be begging for the chance to become a muslim.

okey no really answer me thisI really want to hear it,I'm really curious what you are going to say.

No one even does believe in god even you don't! If you REALLY believed in Christianity or any religion , you would be screaming in the streets. I don't see anyone doing this. You would be taking full propaganda ads in the paper,television,internet,... every day. The churches would be going out of their minds if they really believed what they teach. But they don't. They think they ought to believe what they teach. They believe they should believe, but they don't really believe it. If you think that your life is that you run from the maternity ward to the crematorium, and that's it,fine fucking believe in it BUT DO NOT IMPOSE YOUR FUCKING BELIEVES ON ME OR THE REST OF HUMANITY! Because nothing shows uncertainty more than your way of perceiving people into believing your stupid story.

Once again you ignore all questions put to you.

I wonder why that is - feeling weak in your beliefs and coming to an atheist forum to prosletyse and spread bullshit to make yourself feel better about yourself and your doubts.

Frankly, I don't give a flying fuck what you believe. You don't know me and you therefore cannot speak on my behalf.

You've shown time and again that you're not QUALIFIED to speak on my behalf.

Now: ANSWER THE FUCKING QUESTIONS THAT I'VE PUT TO YOU.

If you refuse to you can just fuck off now!

Why won't you answer the questions, Artur?

Someone might come in and say you're no longer online, but you've demonstrated, time and again, your inability or unwillingness to answer questions such as mine when put to you directly.

Oh I agree there. I never got that myself; it's moronic. Get waisted every other day of the week, just not Sunday. ...Makes sense? :p

If that's what you meant, apologies. It's not what you seemed to say in your first post.

Quote:MindForgedManacles: Teaching evolution at class seemly does not work, respectfully talking to them does not work ether are there any other options left? The only thing that could work is to advocate a secular state or even more extremist standards like state atheism. This could make some progress, but how can we reach this goal?

That's bollocks. Okay, the evolution issue is more an issue of showing up moronic clowns who have religious prominence who fool their unwitting followers.
School-wise, our educational system has been failing us for quite some time. On the topic of evolution specifically, I cannot remember ever getting a clear explanation from my biology teacher in freshman year of high school as to what exactlt evolution was and the evidence that lead to its acceptance as the best explanation of the available evidence as to the diversity of life. So better instruction on these topics (and the instilling on students the meaning of certain terms in the scientific domain like "theory") would go a long way.

As someone who's deconversion was partly due to not being constantly called a moron by an agnostic, I disagree that respectful dialogue cannot work. Does it guarantee a deconversion? Hell no, but I hardly think that should be our goal.

If I cornered you, had a sledge hammer and threatened to destroy your nuts unless you did the Hokey-Pokey with Bruce Springsteen and I, I bet you'd be doing that fucking Hokey-Pokey.

...Ya see? I can make idiotic non sequiturs too. Go fuck yourself, and while you're at it, try using your brain sometime.

Who give a fuck. Seriously, France is far less religious than the US today but you want to hold them up as some kind of poster boy for religion. Well, it does match the intelligence of all your other arguments.

Islam doesn't have courts of law. They have barbaric assholes enforcing religious belief.

Fuck off Artur!

No you don't. You don't get to ask the question and then preemptively censor the answer. That's bullshit.

This question is ridiculous. I don't live in an Islamic state, so I don't have to defend myself in a 'muslim court of law.' I have freedom of speech guaranteed to me by the constitution of my country. The founding fathers of my country had a vested interest in making sure the government didn't establish religion, and that there was a separation of church and state.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
