RE: Airsoft
I did a lot in highschool. Haven't played in years though!

Now I'm getting all nostalgic - I need to go get a gun nao!

Should do the trick, scope and "INCLOUDED" bb's I'd chuck straight in the bin but other than that it will work fine. I imagine it was tested with 0.12g bb's you'll want 0.2g ones, it will drop you to 300ish fps but you'll be more accurate unlikely to hit at "59 meater" range. More likely 40m. Nice sized "magasine" too. Seriously whoever wrote the text on that page must have been drunk, at least I hope they were..

Paintballing was just far too often shitty for me to do regularly. You spend anywhere up to £100 each on paintballs and shitty rental equipment. Then play against a group of assholes either on a stag do or celebrating a birthday. Those assholes 9 times out of 10 start cheating. After that, because you only spend 10-15mins doing each game you have plenty of awkward hopper placements ensuring your overpriced paintballs end up on the floor and useless.

When I went airsofting I immediately loved it. You buy one £8 set of bb's that will last you multiple trips worth of shots. Most of the players are regulars and cheating is taken pretty seriously by both the players and marshals. Best of all, you play almost non stop for 3 hours, have lunch and go back out for another 2.5 hours. I don't dislike paintballing itself mostly the shitty unsporting attitude that gets dragged along with all the birthday/stag do groups. It also seems that the prices are needlessly high because most players only do it for special occasions a couple times a year. At least that's my experience of them.

I have to agree. I love a bit of paintball but it is a bit... Constrained. No tactics, just pop shoot hide rinse and repeat.

Went with this

Same gun, minus the scope, and gives me a wee springer for if it gets sticky.

Yeah, that should do the trick. I had a similar pistol as my first ever airsoft gun. I'm honestly pretty impressed with the magazine capacity for its price.

I'll probably be doing a lot of Sunday events this year. Mostly at combat south and maybe ground zero just the other side of the new forest: http://www.groundzerowoodland.com/Ground.../Main.html

Perhaps I'll run into one of you at one, perhaps get to shoot at you guys too Big Grin

Sundays are tough for me. It's hard to leave the kids with their mother for a whole day just so I can run off and play. I am however looking forward to some evening sessions running around my brothers farm buildings. Probably only be 3 or 4 of us but got all sorts of ideas for games.

And in winter, night ops. What's not to love.

I love being a grown up. It's exactly like being a child but with a better budget!

Sorry. Last question.
For using the shotty as a poor man's sniper rifle (40 metres will be ample), red dot sight or laser?

Lasers are only useful up close when you can see the dot, cheap ones end up making a cone of light too. I'd go with a cheap red dot. I've really not had any issues even just looking along the top of the barrel of my mossenberg.

Slight necro...

Am in quite a lot of pain, but smiling all over.

We've shot a few tens of thousand BB's. My little cyma c022 ak47 Lpeg has proved a fantastic gun, absurdly rugged and reliable for the price and never misses a shot. The G36 is still leaving bruises. The well gravity fed uzi had its "gun of the night" session in CQB and the mossberg, complete with beautifully zeroed red dot sight had its day in the sun today, ironically in the dark, as a sniper weapon. I'm covered in a rash after commando crawling into a large patch of what turned out to be 3 foot high stinging nettles. In short sleeves. Again, in pitch blackness.

Cyma MP5 on order in the hope that it will be as good as the cm022 but a bit shorter and we've all ordered new masks cos you can't play in darkness wearing tinted goggles. There are 2 gas blowback pistols in the armoury and they hurt like motherfuckers... however their owners spend as much time dicking about with gas as actually shooting.

This is the best game EVER!!!!
