EDIT, in all seriousness, I cant understand this format. I just posted an unrelated joke, but it looks like it came up in my response to a prior joke. My intent was not to relate my newist comment/post/joke to the prior post I was commenting on in my prior post.

I never got a chance - but dad did - he got a few flights in a P51.. Said it was a handful. Full right rudder and steer with the throttle (engine torque) until the tail lifts.

Closest I got was RC. In the late 1980's I got a ton of stick time. During one summer I went through 55 gallons of glow fuel - with no engine bigger than a .90.

I got so proficient on so many different models -excelling at takeoff and landings (I used to practice doing touch and goes for hours) - that I got to be the "go to" guy at a couple different flying fields for putting a difficult to fly aircraft up for the first time.

I got to fly a bunch of giant scales - that guys were too nervous to try themselves. I flew several 1/4 scale Mustangs - and once a 1/3 scale P-38..... Compared to the Mustangs - the P-38 took off like a trainer.....

The stang does fly different. The elevator input is really easy overdo.... Too much in a steep bank, trying to do an elevator turn - can get your ass in a jam, right now.....

Spin testing was not advised.
