Bought a new hard drive. When I get everything reinstalled I'll have to try extract the data. Seems to have been a boot sector issue.

What threw us off was that somehow the BIOS was changed so that it was looking to load first from a Flash Drive.

Even my son, the tech wizard, can't figure out that one!

If your power's been off for more than a few hours, your bios will default back, or if it cannot successfully boot to the OS, the bios will default.
This is by design to help the over clockers regain control if they (me) tweak beyond the stable limits.
