Physics for biology/biotech... Mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism. The name of the course is 'applied physics', but the professor is 75 and he doesn't give a flying fuck about us, so all he asks for is to learn by heart everything he says during class (which by the way is totally unintelligible; my notes look like a painting by Jackson Pollock).
There have been exams every month since June, and up until now, only two out of sixty people in my course have passed it. I tried it last month but miserably failed. If I pass it, I'm going to party as fuck. Everyone's invited.

Just vary the coordinate and demand that the linear part of the variation is zero (up to total time derivatives in the lagrangian)
Alternatively you can blindly plug it into the euler-lagrange equations which gives you the same thing.

As an added bonus, you get to laugh at my appearance Apologies for the double chin. I'm a bit overweight as I have ME and can't exercise much.
