You know how you can say something and someone gets mad because they define a term differently than you. So here is the question. How do you define Christian, Christ's follower, and Disciple. Just curious.

Christ - Mythology
Christ's follower - Myth freak - Not an insult, I love greek mythology and I find amusing knowing about it, I just don't believe their gods exist Disciple - Pretty much a blind man walking who is convinced colours don't exist Take that!
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you
Christ: Scam
Christian: Mark Disciple: Con
Christian (n): One who pretends to follow the teachings of the mythic Jesus of Nazareth.
Christ's Follower: (n): One who loudly pretends to follow the teachings of the mythic Jesus of Nazareth. Disciple (n): One who loudly pretends to follow the teachings of the mythic Jesus of Nazareth and won't shut up until you give him money to go away. Boru

The thing about being an atheist is that we're often all too aware of just how many different variations of christianity there are, and that none of them have a particular edge in terms of evidence. Knowing that, it's not really our place to define christianity; to me, anyone who wants the label can take it.
That's why these No True Christian arguments are so frustrating to me. It's like, oh, you think this person isn't a real christian because he doesn't follow X or Y commandment that you do? Well, where exactly is the evidence that makes your permutation of christianity superior to his?

"Self deluded sheep"
In the nicest possible sense.
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
I define Christians as ignorant.
If they really knew what the fuck was in that book they'd either be atheists, or Drich. And we still don't know what Drich is, I've been poking it for days now.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite. Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment. Quote:Some people deserve hell. I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong. ![]() |
