It all comes down to the mind comprehending and coming to terms with the natural chaos of our reality and creating an order that the mind can be comfortable with.
Eg, they like to think what will be, will be, because it is god's way.
It's almost like they feel more comfortable if someone else takes responsibility for their lives. Is this guilt or lack of confidence? If they win the lottery, it's a miracle, if they get struck by lightning, god had a reason for that also. It's basically OCD.
The mind also needs to know that this reasoning is "real" for the same reason genuine crazy people may act crazy to us, but within themselves, their mind justifies all their actions.
We think they speak and act like tards, but they have the numbers and constantly reaffirm each others actions. As technology continues to fill the gaps of knowledge, their numbers will drop ...but it will take time ...many, many generations.

No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
