Shaving

Shaving
Hey all

Since being a teen I always hated shaving as I always ended up with red raw marks under my chin. Recently I discovered traditional shaving with a "Safety Razor" which has worked wonders for the irritation and wondered if anyone else uses similar equipment? I'm currently using an Edwin Jagger DE89 razor with a Vulfix 404 shaving brush, Palmolive shaving stick and Personna blue blades.

It really is a revelation and recommend it to all my fellow male members!

After I got used to it a disposable razor does the job quite well, but sometimes I grow a beard for about two weeks because I'm lazy...

Edit - If you what you want is a nice close shave, just go with a straight razor altogether.

No, I use a four-bladed disposable, most comfortable shave I've ever had.

I would NOT recommend a straight razor, unless you get a professional to give you instruction.

I use a Gilette Phenom. Works great.

I use the hydro 5 blade..
It's good, but it's the law of diminishing returns also.

I shave my head bald every other day. A Safety Razor is all I use. My preferred brand is Gillette® and my preferred model is the Pivot Plus™. I haven't had a nick or cut for over 12 years! I use plain bar soap as lather.

I prefer a ladies safety razor that has been left in the bottom of the shower/tub so that it's gel pad has been ruined, and it must have rust spots where it wasn't rinsed properly so that it has that perfect balance of 1/3 non-cutting streaks, 1/3 painfully dull to the point of pulling the hair out furrows, and 1/3 razor sharp nicks that cut cleanly into the most sensitive parts of my face.

I live with 4 women in my family..
