Interesting Facts That You Know

RE: Interesting Facts That You Know
Quote:Wolfgang Pauli made many important contributions in his career as a physicist, primarily in the field of quantum mechanics. He seldom published papers, preferring lengthy correspondences with colleagues such as Niels Bohr and Werner Heisenberg, with whom he had close friendships. Many of his ideas and results were never published and appeared only in his letters, which were often copied and circulated by their recipients.

Wolfgang Pauli earned a nobel for his work on the exclusion principle.

Only 4/5? Why?
It should definitely be 5/5. I haven't had gum with sugar since I was a young kid. I have never given it to my kids.

The most common automotive maintenance service, the oil change, is also the most useless as improvements in oils and engines have rendered it down to an actual need of 60 to 100k yet most drivers change the oil every 3 to 5k.

Automotive companies that post tire pressures on their door frames intentionally give underinflation values to simulate the "smoothness of ride" found in more expensive vehicles. The tire pressure given on the tire is the actual correct tire pressure.

And from my own industry, there is no such thing as "ceramic brake pads" using the traditional meaning of ceramic. Brake friction pucks are heated to set fusing polymers and sometimes surface "fired" but that is to remove surface binder products, not to fuse crystalline structures.

Low dust pads are another joke as it is the hammering of high lateral-run-out rotor set-ups that cause brake dust, not the pads. It's like making concrete dust by repeated impacts of the concrete with a hammer, you might find some types of concrete that dust up a bit less than others, but stopping the hammer impacts is the correct way to clean up your brake dust.
