The WIN/Gallup End of Year Survey 2013 found the US was perceived to be the greatest threat to world peace by a huge margin, with 24% of respondents fearful of the US followed by: 8% for Pakistan, and 6% for China. This was followed by 5% each for: Afghanistan, Iran, Israel, North Korea. -LINK

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke

It depends where you are, which spider it is, and which shark.

I live in England I don't think we have any poisonous spiders that can live here in the wild, but I am mildly scared of one landing on me in my sleep if it's large enough. If I was in brazil or australia and I saw something that looked like it might be poisonous id be terrified.

I don't swim in the ocean but if I did and I saw a shark of the smaller variety I might not be scared if it was a huge shark I'd be fucking terrified.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Aractus, the last one was brilliant. Dude was bookin' it out of there.
"Yes, I am a Free Lover. I have an inalienable, constitutional and natural right to love whom I may, to love as long or as short a period as I can; to change that love every day if I please, and with that right neither you nor any law you can frame have any right to interfere. And I have the further right to demand a free and unrestricted exercise of that right, and it is your duty not only to accord it, but as a community, to see I am protected in it. I trust that I am fully understood, for I mean just that, and nothing else."

My garage is filled with spiders in precisely the same way that it is empty of sharks.

Huh

A garage filled with spiders can't be too bad since you aren't dead.

Spiders are just scary. I don't think anyone legitimately believes that every one is a terrifying killing machine. We just hate them, because they're gross and creepy. And they crawl around with their spider legs in that awful way that spiders do. And the look at you with their spidery eyes. And they have no respect for personal space. Believe me, if a shark crawled up my leg as I was about to step into the shower I would be terrified. Completely horrified. Somehow even more traumatized than I was when a spider did that.

It's like saying "why even cry if your finger gets cut off, when having half your body run over by a train is so much worse?"
Well because having your finger cut off still hurts, and spiders are still scary.

What if spiders were as big as sharks, and sharks as big as spiders?

I don't mind spiders - except funnelwebs, which are complete bastards.

I don't run from them, though, I jump on them until I know they're dead.

I don't like sharks, though. But humans eat more sharks than they eat us.

Snakes, however. Loathe snakes.

Perhaps, but you never know. On behalf of those who may worry about the Lobster Apocalypse, I eat those little fuckers, from claw to tail, every chance I get.

I actually like spiders, and I'll feed them if I see their webs around. How could anyone hate something which eats the abominable fly? Madness I say. So sharks would win in the fear department, even though I haven't seen one in real life that wasn't in a tank.
