There wasn't a "merge" though. Off Topic existed in the previous forums, and the "Discussion" forum was specifically for discussion of Atheism, which in this forum has simply been changed to "Atheism".
I think that this being a specific forum dedicated to discussion of atheism, anything that isn't related to atheism in some way and is "general discussion" is off topic by definition.

As you put it the "General Discussion" is redundant IMO. I think you can have general discussion on atheism since this is a forum on atheism. But now it is clear to me that you mean the frivolity section with that label.

The only reason I chose to rename "Discussion" to "Atheism" and change "Off Topic" into "Off Topic / General Discussion" is that in the previous format, people were posting off topic threads into the "Discussion" forum without realising it was in the Atheism section. I thought renaming sections might help people to post threads in more appropriate areas.

That's what I get for being fundamentally interested only in "Today's Posts"- I lose the ability to critically examine my siteview

I don't use the "today's posts". I check the good old fashioned way, meandering through the specific forums.
You guys are all damn lazy.

I do the lot.
'New posts', then 'today posts', then 'your posts', then I go through all the remainders in the individual forums. Not lazy - thorough.
