Questions About the Rapture

Which is why, given the the bible is so clear, all US Christians end up with the exact same beliefs. Oh wait....

I don't believe it's about heritage, that's why organized churches are so corrupted, they teach their traditions instead of what that Bible says, the Bible clearly states that people will be "caught up" to meet the lord in the air, but it never uses the word "rapture", it's just used as a matter of convenience.

Quote:1 Thessalonians 4
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

A simple "I prefer not to answer" would probably have been a response to my question, but thank you for elaboration upon other things.

No, it's not a matter of convenience. The doctrine has a definite place in history, even a known inventor. 1830, John Darby. I grow tired of educating the faithful regarding their own faith. But yes, churches are corrupt - probably not for the reason you mentioned, but that's okay...as long as we're on the same page - roughly.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I did answer, I believe exactly what the Bible says, that people will be "caught up to meet the lord in the air", and when I use the terminology "rapture" that is what I'm referring to, nothing more.

Someone else's interpretation doesn't reflect on what I believe.

-and good luck with that, sir...lol. You don't believe in the rapture doctrine...so next time someone asks, you can say no. No need to thank me for the clarification, it's just a service that I provide

rapture and rapture doctrine are two different things. The English word "rapture" is derived from the Latin verb "Rapere" meaning "to carry off," or "to catch up." Exactly what the Bible says.

RE: Questions About the Rapture
Would you like to explore the usage of this imagery in the text - and the differences between such usage and a doctrine built upon it or the use of the word "rapture" that is connected solely to that doctrine and only leveraged after it's invention, or is this just an opportunity for pious chicanery? I'm entirely uninterested in the latter, if that doesn't immediately jump out at you from my comments.

Seems odd Jesus didn't remember that.

Hmm, makes one think of Joe Smith for some reason . .
