People making a vague description true for them doesn't make astrology true.

Adrian,

It's all good and now that I have a cooler head, nothing in this thread seems harsh to me. As to seeing PS as post script, yes, that is the meaning of it but from my experience it is often used as a comedic device, an arguing technique to express something really obvious, or just to add something to a post so everyone knows that it was an edit. People view things based on their connotations or common usage. We are all emotional beings and subject to view the world based on past experience.

Cheers,

RE: Astrology
Astrology started out as science. People observed that the stars were always in the same location at the same time of the year. It was believed that the stars controlled the seasons. If they controlled the seasons, why not the lives of man? Just about every god and unexplained structure in ancient time centered around the stars. That is how religion took its current form.

And Void, I believe the constellations move backwards in relation to the sun. Thus if you are a "Leo" your actual sun sign would be either Cancer of Gemini, not Virgo.

Astrology can't be made true at all; however, if you had parents who were into it, they'd associate your astrology characteristics to you and, at the least, moderately influence you to behave in such ways that were consistant. Then, if you're unlucky, strangers who did believe in astrology would instantly be able to identify those characteristics which match your star sign, so they'd at least be able to identify your birth month - maybe even more, depending on how consistant the psudoscience is in mainstream.

I have to agree there LEDO. Humans seem to always be stressed about the future and so this is where religion comes in.Worship (large)

Astrology for me is not much more that the gathering of archetypes, no different than saying "Oh him? ...He's from New York and is a computer geek" And I bet dollars to doughnuts you have an image of say Bill Gates in your mind right now.Angel Cloud

Humans seem to delight in naming etherial things. That way they have some imaginary control over them, humans also get very upset when you 'don't fit the box they have put you in'; I just can't imagine why.Thinking
