It should tell you the you have driven 0 miles.

Measuring distance not location. It will also tell me I am on step one. I will remain on step one until it is completed. Then I will be on step 2. I will not start off on step zero only to reach step one after having already completed it.

Actually, the twelve hour, AM?PM system is the one that's fucked up.

AM = ante meridiem (before midday)
PM = post meridiem (after midday)

Midnight is both and noon is neither.

Wear one of these:

The 12 hour system is fucked up but I learned it at a young age so it doesn't confuse me as much.

That watch...no. Absolutely not.

Just use what you are used too, most people use the 12-hr system anyway

You mean most Americans or most people in general? I always thought everyone else used military time.

Most people at least where I am from use 12-hour format.

But just so you know, there are some places where they do put 24:00 instead of 00:00, but the later is the more common and accepted practice.

Time is not location, it's distance. At midnight we start a new day and we are 0 hours, 0 minutes, and 0 seconds into it - 00:00:00. Ta-dah!

It appears obvious to me that you did not read the OP. I'm not completely stupid. I already know this. I get it. I don't need it to be explained to me. My whole point was that in my own mind it makes more sense to see time as an exact location instead of a distance. My point is that when things make sense they hurt my brain and when I try to make sense of them I always end up with something that everyone else says is is too complicated. My question wasn't oh mighty intellectuals at AF please explain to me how time works. I get it honestly. I just wanted to know if I'm crazy. That's all. And if I am, are there other crazy people who are also crazy in the same way that I am?

In spoken language, I use the 12 hours system.
In writing, I use the 24 hours system as it's the one least prone to confusion.
And I write it like this:
7h30 - this is 7:30 am
22h15 - this is 10:15 pm

Losty, you're thinking sort of makes sense.... it's the same sense that was used when they set that the first year of the first century was year 1, not year zero.... that's why centuries always start at the year ending in 1... 2001 was the first year in the XXI century, instead of 2000... but computers would have been hit bad on the year 2000, had the y2k bug not been solved and widely implemented by then.

However, that works well for centuries which end at the hundred mark.... days, being split in 24 hours, would make it a pain... we'd get used to it, but there would be many more people asking things to be as they are now, then people like you asking what you ask.

I think you're crazy for not seeing how military time works.

Having the number 1 to represent the events happening before the 1st hour the day begins makes no sense. It's all just self explanatory really.

I'm from England where we do use military time a lot, it's used on a lot of watches and in my workplace for example, but I don't blame you for not wanting to use it because I rarely use it.
It's not like I go round saying "It's 15.00" It's much easier just to say "It's 3 O clock".
And if anyone did tell me the time in military time I would just think "Tell me the proper time and stop tryin to be complicated"

And I admit that when I was very young and they began teaching is military time as opposed to AM, PM which I already knew I did think "What the fuck is this shit, I spent ages learning time now I have to learn this over complicated way of doing it aswell?"

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.
