Harry, you have a claim that there was a worldwide flood. We say that there is no evidence for a worldwide flood, so it is unreasonable to believe that there was one. When asked for evidence, you just provided the claim again.

The bible is not evidence for the bible. I trust even you can see how circular that is, quoting scripture to justify scripture.

Rather than clog up the message with my response, you might consider the following site as "evidence" for the global flood:

http://www.apologeticspress.org/APConten...ticle=1791

blessings,
Harry

No, again, this is not evidence. Independently verified, repeatable evidence regardless of faith or creed is the kind of evidence we're looking for. That sight has a vested interest in convincing people that there was a global flood, its "evidence" is unreliable. Peer-reviewed, scientific journal articles are a good place to start.

Additionally, what do you say to other Christians who hold that there was no global flood?

OK, so?

Quote: While none of the scientists involved in this study would suggest that this data supports the idea of the global Flood they did indicate that the effects of this event were “clearly expressed” in Greenland and Ammersee, Germany.

Two very different puppies. Look at some actual geology to see where this leads in connection to Greenland and Ammersee. Your article builds a strawman around some actual science.

You might also wish to re-examine your first statement, above, about the unreasonableness of belief in a worldwide flood. Your discounting of evidence is the basis of your unreasonableness. If nothing else need be said about your statement, it, itself, is a false syllogism.

The polar ice caps showing evidence of having remained in situ for millions of years blows Noah's boat right out of the water. Is it magic ice that survived underwater for a year; or magic ice that floated around in the floodwater for a bit, then managed to find its way home so it could settle back down precisely where it started so as to leave no trace of its peregrinations?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Theists bastardizing actual scientific work to bolster their pre-drawn faith based conclusions?

harry, quite using the bible to prove your point. It is like me referencing a comic book to prove Batman is real. Again, use science to prove your point.

Evolutionary science is an invalid source of proof since it is based upon theory. And since you reject the Bible as a valid, reliable source of evidence, the question of a global flood cannot be resolved between us; it is a secondary issue. The prime issue is the validity of the Bible. If you wish to discuss that matter, I would be happy to participate.

It's also worth noting that my theological position is that I can only present the evidence, not convince you of its truth. That's a matter between God and you.

Please google "scientific theory" and you`ll see it`s not wise to write about things you know absolutely nothing about.
If it`s true that our species is alone in the universe then I`d have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little.

So your going to say evolution is wrong? ill fix that. there is a extensive fossil record showing that yes evolution is a thing that is happening and is still happening. Whether you like it or not and want the bible to be true but it is not. A global flood like in the mythology of Noah could not have happened. 1. where does all the wood come from 2. naoh isn't a shipwright so how could he know how to build a boat 3. how how does he build a large vessel like that in a weekend 4. for a large boat like that to float it shouldn't it would be ripped apart 5. Every animal and it doesn't attack the crew? 6. were does the food come from 7. animals have to take shits where does that go to. 8. where did the water come from 9. where did the water go 10. none of this is true

The bible is not a valid source of information on mankind but a logical guess back in the early years of mankind we know now for it to be false. its fine for you to believe it but don't go around attacking science. A Theory or Scientific Theory is backed up with evidence supporting evidence and has been tested and verified. Use the scientific method to test god before saying billions and millions of years of evolution to be false.

That link denies a world-wide flood; it's about a flood of naturally occurring meltwater into Hudson Bay. So, there's that.

A scientific theory is an explanation of evidence. We base theory on fact, not fact on theory.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.
