Thank you -- you clearly know more about these groups than I do. 

I'm glad to hear that the American group isn't related to the Nine Angles. They seem like a nasty bunch. 

Two questions, if you happen to know: 

Do the Nine Angles people believe in a real Satan, or do they use the name as a kind of symbol? 

And am I correct in thinking that your group uses the name as a symbol or mascot, but doesn't hold to the idea that there's a real Satan out there? Like no one is asking for favors from an evil demon or anything. 

As I think about it, I recall that there's a good precedent here. Some of the great English Romantic poets saw Satan as a kind of tragic hero, much like Prometheus. They held him up as a symbol of justified rebellion against authority. Though they seem to have gotten their image of Satan more from Milton than from Christian orthodoxy. 

Blake, as usual, was unique. Since he saw God as the state or condition of infinite awareness, he defined Satan as the opposite -- a near-total condition of opacity. Humans could aspire to the condition of God, but, he thought, often fall to the condition of Satan.

‘Unique’ is a very charitable term. What Blake was, was teetotal fucknuts crazy.

TST, The Satanic Temple, doesn't believe in any god/gods, including Satan. He's used as a metaphor, we're all atheists. Using religious imagery, like a pentagram, or an inverted crucifix is to get the attention of those who "believe" because we know what kind of reaction it'll provoke. 
They always go apeshit, which does nothing but bring attention to how biased the US is towards anything that's considered anti-christian.

The unsettling video shows the individual dressed in all black, wearing a red mask with horns and holding a sign that appears to be made out of cardboard.

The Bible passage describes the apocalypse and how believers will go to heaven while nonbelievers will be thrown into the lake of fire, according to Biblia.

“I’m scared,” the homeowner told the outlet. “I’m scared to leave the house. I’m scared to be at the house.”

“It’s about the end of times,” she added. “It’s about judgment day. I freaked out. I couldn’t even think of anything.”

The Carrollton Police Department told WFAA that the masked individual hadn’t been seen on any other properties in the area, and did not commit a crime.

Cops are monitoring the neighborhood just in case another situation like this happens again.

Catholics decry Black Mass scheduled to take place at Kansas State Capitol

A group of Catholic students has formed a petition with more than 22,000 signatures asking Kansas Governor Laura Kelly to cancel a Black Mass scheduled to take place at the end of the month.

An organization for Satanists, The Satanic Grotto, has organized a Black Mass to be held at the Topeka Capitol building on March 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP) vice president John Horvat, a native of Kansas, stated that he was appalled at the “heinous blasphemy.”

“This is not just an offense against God but an attack on the very moral fabric of our state and nation. I urge all God-fearing Americans to take a stand—join us in peaceful protest, sign the petition, and offer prayers of reparation," he said. “Now is the time to defend our faith and reject this public affront to God.”

The Satanic group at the center of the planned stated:

“Join us at the Topeka Capitol building in Kansas as we dedicate the grounds and our legislature to the glory of Satan. We will be performing rites to the Black Mass and indulging in sacrilegious blaspheme. God will fall and Kansas will be embraced by the black flame of Lucifer.”

In return, Satanists should start a petition to stop Catholic masses.

Trump blamed for rise of Satanism in schools

Governor of Florida Ron Desantis has blamed US President Donald Trump for the Satanic Temple’s emergence spreading their ideology and values to children.

“I heard this and then I was like, well, how did it get there? Is that even a religion? And lo and behold, the Trump administration gave them approval to be under the IRS as a religion.

“So that gave them the legal ability to potentially do it.

“My view would be that that’s not a religion that the founding fathers were trying to create. But I do think that IRS ruling, I was really surprised to see that they did that.”

These comments are due to actions made under Trump’s former administration as the Internal Revenue Service designated the Satanic Temple a church. This decision allowed the church to apply for faith based grants and tax exempt status.
