We need to seek within ourselves. Men are NOT a good guide to OUR intuition.
So, you start and conclude by claiming that your human experiences are necessarily flawed, but then in the middle you claim to have come to an accurate conclusion about the existence of god? Aren't you one of those men, who aren't good guides to intuition and taint everything they touch?

You don't have "the" concept of God. Just the negative aspects you were brought up on.
God doesn't live in a book, or on someones lips.... or in anyone's words or deeds. Theres a start for you!
Admittedly, when I imagined myself to be a Christian as a child, I never thought of god in a fearful way. I thought of god as a benevolent, infinitely wise and ancient person who wished me well.
But then I had the luxury of never having read the bible or attending a church after the age of five. The bible is a bummer.

I'm not a combat veteran, but I never once prayed while fighting fire. I did what I do in any situation I don't like: take matters into my own hands, work to bring about the result I wish to see, and ask for help from colleagues, friends, lovers, or family when need be.
Turn to god for help? I might as well ask Tinkerbell to keep me young forever.

I never got that part of the play. I was always one of those who didn't clap. I thought it was silly. Why would clapping show you believed? Shouldn't you just believe, wouldn't that be enough? And besides, stop breaking the fourth wall! You don't talk to the audience, it destroys the immersion!
