The Road to Glendale: NFL Playoffs discussion
RE: The Road to Glendale: NFL Playoffs discussion
It shouldn't be that difficult to test. Frankly, if the NFL didn't also test the Colts' footballs as part of their investigation, they may as well just drop the whole thing. And if they did test them, then they can show whether those footballs were showing the same level of deflation during the game.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Dunno, man, but I tell you this - I'd be rooting hard against the Patriots no matter who they were playing.

Even the fucking Cowboys. (spit)

Were it 1995 I'd be in the same boat. But Cowgirls vs. Patsies.... I'd be hard pressed to root for the Patsies.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Based on what Brady has said in interviews (that he prefers the ball inflated to the NFL minimum) it's perfectly reasonable to expect the balls to become "deflated" due to the temperature outside changing the pressure in the balls. If the Colts had their balls inflated to the NFL max (or near to it) then their balls would also deflate, but not to below the NFL minimum.

From what I gather from CD, the balls all came from the Patriots. They provide them an hour and a half before the game. 12 go to the Colts, 12 for the Pats, and 12 for kicking. The ONLY ones that were 2 lbs light were the ones the Pats had for their side. Looks pretty incriminating to me. Undecided

Remember, I said I wasn't sure about that. Can't recall where I read that.

That's inconclusive.

It's conclusive in that it specifies how many balls are designated for kicking. Other than that, we know the offenses provided their own balls, as that's what has been consistently reported. Not a comment on anything other than how many balls were on field that day.

I'm laughing my ass off.

Rained on all their bullshit "events" tonight and it is going to rain right into Saturday.

I've been here nearly 10 years and can't remember rain on 3 straight days.

The Hockey Gods are saying "fuck football."
