Of course they do. Domestic terrorists. They exist, and have been a far greater problem for us than the muslim terrorists have been - dirty little secrets, I suppose. It's to be expected, there are more of them round these parts - and they're already here, so it saves money on a flight.

They do...but the act of asking a christian a question doesn't mean that a christian hears you, wants to hear you, or will ever grace you with a response. Their ears are stuffed up with hymns and hosannas, often enough.

I don't know exactly what you want me to explain, but here we go again...
* strike [them] upon the necks : means cut the freaking head off .
* [them] is added to explain that it refers to the people that he was just talking about in the sentence before it ..."I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved"
Its is so bloody easy to understand its meaning when reading it in arabic, maybe thats why i'm having a hard time figuring out what is it that you don't understand .

If I want to say "cut their heads" off I'd say "cut their heads off" and not "strike them on the neck". Strike them on the neck with an axe or a machette maybe. You're saying this is a given so it looks like I'll have to take your word for that. I wouldn't be confident in repeating that.

you don't have to take my word for anything, use your sense .
what would "strike them on the necks" mean other than hitting their necks with a weapon(ex: sword or axe) and killing them ?
Now, does it have to cut the whole neck and chop the head off or just cut part and leave the rest ? When it comes to questions like these, what is the point ....

I'd "strike them on the neck" to give them a slap of rebuke. Y'know... "hit" them with my hand?? No way would I ever think that would mean decapitating someone. The level of barbarism assumed is beyond my experience.

The point is to give Frodo something to prevaricate upon.

There is no such thing as a peaceful religion, there are only volcanos that are more dormant than others in our species history. Regions divide humans, even Buddhism has competing sects and has had its own infighting and divisions. The west became civil in spite of religion, not because of it.
I agree that Islam currently has the most problems with violence, but this is not unique to human history or Islam.

There is no civilised without religion.
What we call civilised in the west is good moral teaching. Listening to judges debate justice the only reason we don't chop off hands and have capital punishment is because we take the examples of turning the other cheek, there being good in everyone and the promise of eternal judgment into account. In short, the western justice system appears to be based upon religion.

Bull! Our species has survived long since we discovered the truth about the shape of our planet. Our species has survived without believing in the Egyptian sun god.
The only argument anyone of us can make is protecting human rights from a government standpoint. The right to make stupid claims and the right to blaspheme and ridicule those stupid claims. But that does not make any polytheistic god or monotheistic god real merely because of that right.
If our species never questioned social norms our species never would have left the caves.
Religion does not make humans civil, our common empathy does.
