Well, it must very believable because there sure have been a lot of people who believed it. Do you think that you are wisest person in the world and you have nothing more to learn or experience?

Do you actually believe that most christians even reflect on what the trinity actually means? I mean with all it's implications such as they all are supposed to share one spirit. Meaning, Jesus spoke to himself when he asked to take that cup away and he was talking about himself when he talked about the father in heaven. And most of all, he sacrificed himself to himself. Even theologians have to do some serious bending and shaping and duct taping to keep all the pieces in place.

I know what words mean. I'm sure that when you have a policy of ostracizing or killing dissenters, you're bound to have a lot of people claiming belief when they don't actually believe something. Even if part of a book contradicts other parts.

This is on par with saying atheism, which is about not believing in deities, is a religion, which applies to deities. If you broaden a word too much, it loses its meaning. Father, son, singular, multiple, have meaning that exclude the other. Like a square circle. It's something we shouldn't have to debate, yet here we are.

Hate to go off-topic, but don't the christers realize their DIRE need for apologists, and working out 'answers' ROFLOL to shit like that is important in their competition with other religions ??

If you think about it too much, it will make you crazy. It's impossible to grasp the concept intellectually, as is a God or anything that has always existed. Once you've accepted the existence of the supernatural you can accept the Trinity; if not then you can't.

Even if we believed in the supernatural, there's still a gap between believing my house is haunted, to believing in a mono/polytheist ideology.

I love apologetics, but most christians I know don't get involved in that kind of stuff. I've never been satisfied and have always been searching since I was a teenager. I keep thinking that I'll find "the answer" that will make me content and then I'll just relax my mind and take it easy, but it never happens.

That's my point, people believe it because they don't reflect on the concept, not because it's so convincing.

But apparently they believed it without giving it much thought, since...

...which implies that the only honest Christian is an insane Christian.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
