Solitude's thread gave me the idea of promoting another critic of religion. This one was German, he died last april at the ripe age of 90. Karlheinz Deschner was one of the most outspoken opponents of the church, especially the Roman catholic church and he devoted his whole life to writing about the hypocrisy.

I can only recommend his books, since they all have been translated to english. They're very informative, a little bit polemic, but also provide a good laugh at many occasions.

Did you know that some guy named Dawkins won the Deschner prize a few years back? Smile
