One of the Steam games I got for Christmas was MotN, which is a fantastic 2D stealth game with an ending that really makes you think. Or it really made me think. Excellent gameplay, and thought provoking story. It's rather addicting, and has good replayability through styles you can unlock that give you different abilities.
There is a point system. One of the things you get points for is not killing anyone, which awards you with several thousand points. It's meant to encourage pacifist runs, although you can easily make up those points and more by going on a kill spree. This is because you get points for passing nearby an enemy undetected, distracting them, doing a good stealth kill, and hiding the body. Done properly, you will get a thousand points per person, though you can't do all those things with every person. In a crowded area, if you can terrify an enemy, they'll wind up killing everyone who comes running, which will award you with a lot of points.
Honestly I think it would have been better to reduce the amount of points you get for kills. Another option would be to make the bonus for no kills even higher, but I think that might go overboard.
If there were any nitpicks I had about the game, this would be it. I just think they could have done better in this respect, preferably by reducing the points you get in general, to make the up to eight thousand no kill bonus more substantial. Sometimes I've seen it lower than that.
I'd like to discuss the ending with people who have played this game, or know of this game.I don't really want to spoil the whole thing, but if anyone wants to discuss it, I'd be happy to.
