Not to toot my own horn, but I am, like, really, really good at quoting.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Yeah, it is a weird rule .. or is it really a guideline? Damned if I know. But I sure wish no one had to do anything about it. If no one responds because everyone involved has moved on .. whatever. Let the noob talk to themselves or to whoever shows up that is interested for all I care. Just hate that anyone has to be bothered by it.

It's more of a guideline. I necro'd my get-together thread the other day, but it's a sticky, and is meant to be brought up as needed. Same with, like, the cat memes thread. Mostly, we're guiding against necroposting in threads that aren't meant to be ongoing. It's better to start a new one so people don't find themselves responding to members who aren't active any longer. That's wicked annoying.

Good. So long as staff aren't bothered to do anything about it. I know I sometimes mention it myself but I'm pretty low key .. cuz, you know, whatever.

Honestly, the only time it ever becomes more than an annoyance is when someone's going around necroposting every thread in sight.
It's a guideline. It's not something that's going to get anyone in a bunch of trouble.

I've kept my Damned Catholics, Damned Protestants, Damned Muslims and Damned Jews threads going for years. The first three are easy because they do something stupid pretty much every day. The Jews are a little harder but that mainly because they don't annoy the shit out of me the way the others do.
Then there is the Damned Republicunt thread...again, stupid shit is a daily occurrence there and the Gun Nut thread which, sadly, will never run dry.

You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

Don't forget the rabid cops thread. That's good for a daily post.

Throw it in the oven. 250 for 3 hours 15 mintues. Cure those brains.
This is key: you have to quench in Extra Virgin Olive Oil immediately when you pull it out of the oven to anneal the brains. Banhammer strong as ever.
