1) What am I doing here?
2) Where will I be in a hundred years?
And be enticed to believe lies, or endlessly following after rabbit trails of any variety of "deep" knowledge, and you never get your answer to those two big questions- you are not ready to face your maker at the end of this life.

The pseudo intellectuals will tell you there is no rhyme or reason for life/ no one can find those answers, or hand you a bunch of BS and say you are an idiot for asking.

If, as you learn what you need to know about life, work, people, etc., you also pursue knowing the truth about yourself and the truth about God-

I don't think you're an idiot for asking, but you can't know the answers. We're not decieving ourselves for thinking that, either, because recognizing that every argument ever made that does claim to know has been completely unfounded is not deception. OK Xeno, I will give this a shot- The devil deliberately inspires people to seek knowledge rather than God (in whom, and in relationship to, is Life.

The JWs left a little booklet on my door once a long time ago, it said (supposedly quoting the New Testament and Jesus' words- "This is eternal life- that they may know about thee..."

Why is god so against knowledge? Has it not occurred to you that perhaps the author was trying to keep the reader from learning that the whole thing was made up?
