Grim Fandango is pretty unique. Only one other game used the same engine, Escape From Monkey Island, and Grim was not only much better, but the graphics and style that went along with the game-play suited it much more than EFMI. In addition it's a significantly longer game, in fact each of the four parts is as long as some other adventure games. The game's soundtrack was composed by Peter McConnell, was highly praised by critics both then and now. For the "remastered version" the soundtrack was re-recorded at the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
As a game it has great dialogue, characters, and puzzles to solve. I haven't played it in years, I think I've only played it through twice, I'm really looking forward to it.
Well worth the USD15 for the game.

You won't regret it, even if it does have a few bugs to be ironed out at launch (the original had more bugs that were never officially fixed by Lucasarts). There's really no other game like it, it's just so innovative. The creativity of these guys was amazing. Let us know how much you love it after you've played it through!
