All good stuff. Thank you for explaining your views. It is all rather subjective and personal, isn't it, as opposed to hard empirical fact. My only comment is that your view of existentialism seems to focus on the negative guys...Sarte and company. Kierkegaard is an excellent example of a thinker who went beyond reason to find the "truth"... for himself at least. The Christian existentialists and phenomenologists (I judge or damn not based upon religion) also found "knowledge" through non empirical means. Ditto Bergson and the great film critic Bazin.

No need for the defensive tone. My apologies if my post came off as an argument. I was merely attempting to ask a neutral question. Loved the Spielberg clip. PM exactly.

I don't call myself an atheist, that only imprisons me in a belief system, and I think I know what you are saying. I don't have a belief of a god, or a personal god as the Christians believe in, but I feel that the whole cosmos is one, and nothing is truly separate, I suppose that is my God if I had to believe in a god. I also see many metaphors in certain scriptures such as the bible, that can enlighten one to their true place in this universe, I also think that many atheist throw out the baby with the bath water, and miss the whole idea of an inner search, they prefer to search outward which is good, but there is much more to this life than what we perceive outward.
I don't say much about this here on this forum as I know it will only be trodden on.
