50 Shades of Grey; the movie

50 Shades of Grey; the movie
So I watched 50 Shades of Grey, because I have decided it's time for me to be a total rip-off of Cinema Snob and his crew. I have decided, now that I have some time and money, to do some midnight reviews, where I can.

Why not start with this?

Well.

What do I say? I mean. What DO I say?? The theatre was packed with women. Shrieking, squealing, tittering women. No, not girls. Women.

We're talking like...30-40 year-olds on average.

The movie was...well. It was what I expected. A very chicky chick-flick. With sexual overtones. And by overtones I mean sexual themes being blasted through a fucking foghorn.

If you've read the book, you know the plot. If you haven't...

Good.

That said, the acting was actually pretty damn good. I found it rather amusing overall. Not just the movie; the experience! Listening to the shuddering gasps and sighs and giggles of a bunch of horny housewives and soccer moms was hilarious. But the movie itself, well, the characters weren't bad. I didn't hate them, certainly. The plot was...well, it's bland and boring. It's better than Twilight, I guess, at least in its writing. I didn't hate the characters, like I said.

But, for being something that's SUPPOSED to be about S&M and a switch-to-switch thing...it's so unbelievably mild. It's just... It's bland.

I can't say it's bad. It's just dull.

But let's be honest, was anyone here expecting any differently?

Well, when it comes to movies, that's actually my definition of bad.

I never planned on watching it. The whole theme doesn't strike a nerve and I fully expected it to be mild, since it's a mainstream movie. What's interesting about it is actually the created hype surrounding it. 50 shades of something has become a meme with many media outlets actually.

The movie was stupid. I enjoyed the first time they showed her tits and ass but then it was boring afterwards.

The whole franchise, fuck it! I read the "books", it was a total waste of time. I'm not gonna waste any further time on the movie. I wish anal leakage and painful hemorrhoids upon those, who decided to make that shitfest appear on the silver screen. Fuck. I'm out of here!

When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Saying it's a little better than twilight is far away from convincing me to watch it Tongue

When I was much, much younger I had a friend who liked to go to male strip shows that a local nightclub had every Wednesday. The club was always packed with women, many who were middle aged and older. They screamed and cheered the loudest. It never fails to amaze me that some men are surprised by how raunchy most women, especially older women are.

Part of the problem is that until recently "nice" women weren't suppose to like sex just for sex so porn, for many women who might actually enjoy it, is off limits. Couples in Romance novels have a relationship so many women feel okay reading them even if they have lots of sex

It surprises me in this case, since it has been made public that the male lead (don't even remember his name) had a clause in his contract to not show his pride and joy on screen. Speaking of taking away the suspense up front.

I did not know that but I have ignored most news about the book because I like visual porn.

I do not intend to watch the movie, it seems like something I am used to. But if it improves the sex life of orhers, it can't really be a bad thing.

Isn't 50 shades of grey the most boring sounding title?
50 shades of meh.
50 shades of bland.
If you get my drift.
