I respectfully disagree, Kyu, although I understand where you're coming from. Daystar and I very rarely see eye to eye, and are often butting heads, but frankly I wouldn't post nearly as much as I do if he wasn't here, for two reasons. First, when he posts something, it often spurs me to start doing some research, and I've had reason to use my school's resource of peer-reviewed and am learning as I go, which I really like. Second, there is no point in preaching to the choir, and I'd rather flat out argue with Daystar, who brings up many creationist points and lets me look into them for myself and look at why exactly they are wrong, or misleading.

I appreciate that, Lukec. It is a compliment to be told that you provoked someone to think and discover even their own truth, but people get tired of someone who might appear to make them look foolish. They want a message board where it is easy for them to make the other side look foolish. That doesn't require much thought, as a side benefit.

Us atheists are decided and awaiting contrary evidence (evidence of God).
You are decided and continue to fail in providing evidence, yet still yap on about us being ignorant, stupid, religious, etc.

If you wanted me to pray to God for a few months whilst reading the bible from a neutral standpoint and get back to you, that would be fine. The thing is: I am perfectly happy to debate with him if he'll either admit that he has "faith" and no evidence. Or he'll actually provide evidence.

Daystar, I'm afraid has no evidence, he is content to use the creationist tactics of picking holes and dismissing major scientific theories on the basis of "common sense" or personal incredulity.

If Daystar had any real evidence he would surely have provided it in response to some of the questions he is so carefully avoiding.

Given that Daystar is an ex-police officer one might be tempted to think he'd know the difference between what is and is not evidence, but scientific evidence is somewhat more demanding than legal and my experience of the police and the legal system in general is that they are nowhere near as fair, or concerned about the truth, as people might like to believe. I strongly suspect that Daystar is of this mould and wouldn't know real scientific evidence if it was a wet kipper beating him repeatedly around the head.

As Jeremy Clarkson once said, "The Juries Are Scarier Than The Criminals" but in my opinion the police are scarier still and Daystar's twaddle on this forum does little to reassure me in this respect.

If you don't care about proving anything why do you mention God and the supernatural? If you are going to bring them up I have the right to ask for proof. If you have a problem with my debating explain what the problem is.
I certainly have a problem with yours! You don't even want a debate! You mention God and the supernatural but you don't want them to be questioned! If I question you for evidence why don't you just say its a matter of "faith" if its a matter of faith. If you DO think you have evidence WHY exactly won't you present any?
You may not want to give evidence but I want to ask for some. I'm an atheist and if you keep on mentioning God on and on; on this atheist forum. I'm going to keep questioning you about it on and on. Seems faith to me.

Daystar how come do you think that the christian god exist but not the Shintoist, or the gods in the Scandinavian religion like Tor, Oden, Frej and so on?

How could yopu prove that they are wrong? What is saying that their exist only one god and not many that people in Hinudism believe. They are one bilion people and it is the oldest religion. They have not been punished by that god you believe in for not believing in him.

The same thing with shintoists, buddhism, konfucism and on. That are alot of people believing in those religion. what is saying that their religion isnt more right then yours?

How would you prove that the hinudism and buddhism idea of recarnation isnt something that doesnt happen? They would probably use the same argument you would. The know its right just because they know it. Sure, it cantbe rpvoen that it happens, but it cant be proven that it doesnt happen.

If the logic is that something can exist just because it cant be proven that it doesnt. Then I would say that we are all living in a world just like in the matrix.

Third and foruth generations? THat sound a litlte bit harsh doesnt it? And he is jealous god also! Wow, he say that people shouldnt be jealous but he is that himself. isnt that one of the death sins also?

If he would have punish the third and fourht generations of someone who rejects him. Then there wouldnt exist some many chinese people and certinly not so amny vietnamese people either!
