Easy arguments against the Bible, and religion as a whole
RE: Easy arguments against the Bible, and religion as a whole
Proof proof proof.
Does faith need proof?
Does the lack of faith need proof?
They are all in your head.
You provide your own proof to yourselves.

You're going to have to be a bit more specific, chippy. I'm sure you'll have trouble accepting this but I don't hang on your every word. Most of your words are fucking worthless but I must have missed this bit of drivel.

What are you asking for a source about?

Sorry Tacky, that comment was not aimed at you.You posted whilst I was writing my post.

My comment was directed at the position of the Christians Rwandrall quoted.

As for being more knowledgeable than you. [about anything] I'm flattered that you think so,but I am reminded daily of the extent of my ignorance. I am often out of my depth here,in terms of knowledge and intellectually.

It's the fallacy of Composition. The arguer assumes that because something is true or false for a part of something, then it is necessarily true or false for the whole. Your armor example fits perfectly.

I recommend heavy drinking. It doesn't solve the problem, but after a certain point, you simply no longer care.

I don't know...it's like a trip down memory lane....especially when the post includes references to both Tacky and Padraic.

You can't prove a negative! Wink

But yeah, it probably doesn't stop that many people.

Evolution is now (hopefully) fact for anyone who thinks rationally.
The Old Testament (used both in Judaism and Christianity, dunno for Islam) claims the story of Adam and Eve is true

If Evolution is right, Adam and Eve never existed. Hence, the Bible claimed something that is not true

Since one thing in the Bible is wrong, the Bible as a holy book that speaks the word of God is not acceptable, everything it says can be questioned, and the burden of proof is therefore on the bible-believers.

I know, this argument is shaky at best, but it is pretty simple to explain, does not require philosophical interrogation and rarely leads to the loop argument of "i believe because i believe".

what?
you made an argument against types of people not the bible. That being bible literalist.

You also made arguments against people that tell you what you have to believe instead of how to "reconnect" to the ecosystem around the best way YOU can..

a simple risk vs. benefit tells the real story. Unless of course you think the inquisition killed more people and was in the name god. which is was not. It was a power struggle between men.
