The strike is what it is. A Strike. Comparing to a real work strike what you are saying is that we should take it up and dont complain. There is no threat but this symbolic strike is what it is, a pacific protest from us. You are always welcome to reveal the ass that you truly are Johnny.

Symbolic is lame...man up and shut 'er down...

RE: For the mods
I love the mods and I went them back. I may surprise myself the lengths of begging I may go to.

Christians are so desperate for there to be an authority figure handing out arbitrary rules so they know what to do, yet when they have one here doing exactly that, they don't like it!

Just joking around again Smile

Pretty please? When you're ready of course. I hope all the other people who appreciate you will pitch in.

Guys? Smile

I am actually quite intrigued by this strike and I am willing to see how the forum fares without them. Of course, I am also a big fan of chaos.

It's not often I agree with AM, and I don't agree with shutting the site down, but seriously, if you don't like being a moderator, turn in your hat.

The most of us have told you that we approve of the staff's behavior in general (in the "Peanut Gallery" thread). The most of us do not engage in the behavior that has put a bee in your bonnet. What else do you want? This is looking like grandstanding here.

It's nothing to do with not liking the job. Let me see if I can clarify it this way:

Apart from the different colours and the extra responsibilities, we are forum members just like everyone else. When I, for one, log in here, I'd like to enjoy the freedon of the community the way I used to before my selection. That's a little difficult to do if I have to devote, say, 60-70% of my own time to cleaning up the blood after fights, then dealing with the fallout from doing that. It's this last part that tends to make a person think "fuck it - I don't need the hassle today". I've had arguments with people purely because I've made simple housekeeping edits to their posts, for chrissake. I'm not asking for blowjobs just for doing my job (although...). Just a little not-having-my-balls-chewed-off might be nice occasionally.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

RE: For the mods
How many mods are not on strike, may I ask?

I don't blame you Stimbo. I don't even see the PMs. The public whining is enough to piss me off. I think taking a hard line on the whining may be the only option they are giving you. If people can't be civilised, they should lose the right to be here. And it won't effect those of us able to conduct ourselves properly.

But there's no harm taking some time off and just being a regular pleb for a while and seeing how you feel after that Smile

As for my enforcer idea, this new class could not only deliver staff messages but also be able to perform necessary edits to posts after getting instructions from the staff. That way the heat gets directed away from whoever happens to be doing it.

RE: For the mods
I get it, Stimsy. I just think that the point has been made.

Having been a mod elsewhere, I know it's a thankless task, largely. Mod as you see fit and don't worry about the backseat drivers ... certainly not in such a public manner.

For my part, I agree.

RE: For the mods
I actually highly disagree. Thump, you know I like you, but telling us how to do our jobs is exactly why I'm on strike.
