Although I think you're right that Mussolini was more important to history than we credit him for. The Nazi rise might have been harder without him there. I'm just saying Mussolini shaped the history of Europe in the XX century - All other fascists came after him. This was terrible but good because we learned a lot on how valuable freedom can beHitler would actually be a better candidate then mossulini. The reason being that Hitler was a far more cunning manipulator then mossulini. Of course several years ago I watched a interview with an Italian veteran and he made the rather interesting proposition that Mussolini's downfall had to do with the Italians national character.
