She is clearly white.  She doesn't even resemble someone of African-American descent.

I would have to slightly disagree with you.

Comparing her photos of when she was 16 to what she looks like now, I have noticed she does have a flat nose. That would be the only feature I see that would help her pass for being black if she was naturally darker skinned, which she isn't. And she seems to be wearing contacts to maker her eyes look hazel.

But then again, look at Carla Hall of The Chew. She has a hooked nose and is tall. I would guess an Ethiopian/Native American heritage, but I could be wrong.

It is the same with claiming Native American ancestry.  Some tribes will allow you to claim membership if you can prove you have 1/16 Indian blood in your DNA.

My mom is 1/4 Choctaw, and if she registers with the tribe, any of her immediate descendants, like myself, can also register. So, they'll let you claim with only 1/8 ancestry.

And for the record, I look super fucking white.

I don't get that with the Native Ancestry. Oh my great-great grandmother was a Cherokee princess (LOL) so therefore I am a Native American - said the boy with blue eyes and blond hair.

There's nothing wrong with being in touch with that side of your ancestry and taking interest in it, but to say you are purely "Native American" when you are whiter than Marilyn Monroe is laughable.

Not being funny or nothing, but I don't think there's any mistaking that she and her mother are blood relatives, they look so alike.

Well......the reason that there's so much "Cherokee" in whites actually -is- because they could pass for whites.  It's also due to the fact that "Cherokee" was more socially acceptable than "Black" to those with african american heritage...again, who could pass for white.  It was a safer bet, both for cherokees and blacks -for quite some time- to be "white" if they could manage it.  In the case of blacks, it was due to oppression by whites pretty much start to finish...but in the case of the cherokee...it was actually due to oppression by -other- native americans initially...not that they wouldn't get their turn getting shafted by the pale faced devils...lol.

Oh, what tangled webs we weave.  

Thing is, blue eyes and blonde hair doesn't really lead to the sentiment you're expressing.  All you need to have (discounting mutation and disease), to have blue eyes...even if you're black..is -some- european ancestry on -both- sides of your family.  It can be a relatively insignificant amount, compared to the overall pie....and it can be  quite a few generations back with no more european heritage in between.    

The blonde hair bit..well, you'll have to take that up with oceania, where occurrence of blonde hair is about the same as it is in europe....and the two traits simply aren't related -at all-.  It's not even close to the blue eyes bit above, where there really is only one -hereditary- path.  

So, if you see a "black" person with blonde hair.....sure, they may have european ancenstry.....but they might also be from the Solomons.  If you see a native american with blue eyes, sure...he has -some- european ancenstry...but it might only be two individuals (accounting for the potential of rape, which really can;t be ignored if we're talking about the historical relationship between europeans, native americans, and heredity in this country....it might only be one....) and it might go all the way back to 1800's (or further) as a recessive trait carried.   My cousin Cletus, for example.....aint white....but he does have blue eyes. My highschool sweetheart was as blonde as blonde could be......but she didn't have any european ancenstry as far as anyone in her family knew.

So maybe be less harsh.

In my own family on my mother's side it is said that my great grandmother was either half or full-blooded Cherokee. Two of my uncles and my great uncle were all tall, had jet-black hair, were brown-skinned and had hook shaped noses. So I definitely think it is true.

One particular racial group I thought fascinating when I first heard about them are Melungeons, who are tri-racial, an ethnicity that resulted from a mixing of Native American, African, and European, found originally in the Cumberland Gap area of eastern Tennesee and eastern Kentucky. The hall mark trait beyond their darkish skin and black curly hair was shovel-shaped teeth. Elvis Pressly is said to have been of Melungeon heritage.
