No, it is not difficult at all.  If the stories are true, she is a liar or delusional.  For a specific example of a lie, consider who she said her father was, according to these articles:

As for working for the NAACP or being interested in the cause of equality in America, there is no reason to object to her interest regardless of her ancestry.  It is to be hoped that no one is criticizing her for that.

It's terrible that we are only what society perceives us as being.

However terrible it may be, it is completely relevant to who the KKK types are likely to want to lynch, and who gets discriminated against.

If you do not appear to be black to someone who is bigoted against black people, then the bigot will not discriminate against you on that basis.  How you feel or perceive yourself to be is completely irrelevant to whether others will discriminate against you.  It is their perceptions that matter for that.

In the case of the subject of this thread, it would appear that the woman looked very white growing up, and is unlikely to have been discriminated against for being black as a child.  If that is true, then if she says that she suffered such discrimination as a child, she is either a liar or delusional.  And one may legitimately criticize her for that.

It doesn't matter what she looked like as a child. She looks black now so the kkk would probably want to lynch her.

I don't know, I have seen racist people squirm before when they get caught out for saying something racist in front of someone they thought was white but wasn't. I think really racist people are obsessed with the supposed "purity" aspect of whiteness. I've actually had this myself in the past, where some people look at me like I'm a jigsaw puzzle they can't quite put together, this very white kid with an exotic surname and a "dark" Dad I apparently look nothing like. It's invasive.

Also the KKK would probably look at this woman like a sell-out and accuse her of being a "n****r lover", the typical juvenile schoolyard "insults".

there's a problem right there. slavs are and have always been a very genetically and culturally diverse group, with lots of mutual hostility. and they inhabit south and central Europe as well.

Like any other group. The word "slavic" or any other racial word isn't meant to mean "one group" because every group is diverse. Portuguese people are Mediterranean but we have people with brunette skin, blue eyes, brown eyes, dark hair, etc. The words to describe ancestry work as a general indicator but don't mean everyone is similar... Let's look at asians, they may look the same to us but for a Japanese a Korean or a Chinese they are different and there's hostility, in fact in Japan it's frequent to look down upon on interracial marriage.

I've already cleared up that part about being black to fight for black rights. Don't ask me that question, ask black activists. Usually, a bit of noticeable black ancestry seems enough. Yeah we all have it, but in some people it's more noticeable. For black activists in America a little of black ancestry seems acceptable. Someone like Obama could perfectly be a Black activist without a problem. 

Hate to tell you, everyone on earth today has 100% African ancestry.    Even the Neanderthal bits you may have are still ultimately African in origin.

Yeah, but this is the kind of irrelevant strawman. I know race isn't a thing biologically and we are all related. That's not the point. The point is that we have evolved with physical differences that affect others' prejudices and causes things like racism. If everyone had the same ancestry, we would look alike. Some people have evolved with lighter skin, others' with darker. Eventually we named one group "white" and the other "black". Those are just definitions for different ethnic groups with ancestors from different places.
