Athiesm, religion, and drugs...

RE: Athiesm, religion, and drugs...
I grow vegables as well! Isn't it creepy?

Flowers are cool though, just not as functional. This year 'i am growing a bunch of herbs and trying to make and sell tea. Whaddya think? I should send some to Adrian, they like a good cuppa over there. It won't be Pekoe or Breakfast though...

The Trilliums are just up here, have about 10 i my yard. Trilliums are cool three leaved and petaled flowers that are indigenous to MidEastern Canada, and they are the Provincial flower of Ontario. You are literally not allowed to pick them, it is against the law. But if they are on my property and I planted them? I always joke I will dig one up and put it right in the middle of one of the golf course lawns around here, and then tape them flipping out and removing it, and report them to ByLaw...

Actually hilarious idea. Plant it when you know the maintenance is mowing/weeding and then stand there with your video cam. Stand in plain sight filming. Someone will figure out what you are doing and either wait until the dead of night to yank the plant off the green/fairway or pay you some hush money.

Be good for a one-timer laugh at the least.

What's so creepy about you growing veggys also?

I built myself a pond in my backyard also. Different fish in there and when my catfish get too big I actually pole fish for them, yank 'em out and grill them up. Yummm yummm.... that with a few squash off the vines here grilled by it's side, some spicy tarter sauce made with the banana peppers..... mmm MMmmm.. Damned good eatin'. (edited to addSmile oh, and a bowl full of my raspberries fer dessert.

There is just 'something' about eatin' up stuffs you've "created" yourself.

Yeah, catching your own fish makes it taste better, but growing a vegable for a couple months is even better.

I have a couple small ponds, with little waterfalls because the birds really like running water. They have gold fish that have to overwinter in the house, and they may soon be big enough to eat.

Yeah, the whole planting a tillium in the middle of the neighbors lawn thing is classic. I never considered they would pay me hush money! I like it. Part of the joke is that someone had to transplant it, it wasn't there in full bloom yesterday...

Huh... you got ponds also?

Neat. I shared a couple pics here on these forums somewhere. How about you post a couple pics of your handiwork?

Gimme a minute. I need to find a way to host them...

The ponds are the plastic drop in type, so if you are raising edible fish in yours, it is likely much larger than mine.

My family is Nature Worshiping, so our yard is a project in local naturalization. It is all, and I mean all, garden, but a wild (looking) and very animal and nature friendly one. A lot of local stuff, the less interesting things we have up here in the near perma-frost growing area. The vegetables are mine, whilst the garden mostly my old ma's.

Our neighbors abhor our yard. One of them has threatened to sneak over in the middle of the night and spray the dandelions with poison, I told him I would burn his house down. He doesn't talk to us anymore...

Gimmie some time to try to get some detailed pics of the garden and ponds, today is a busy one. I'm considering filing taxes for the first time in my life, and it gets pretty complicated seeing as how I've been working and inheriting lush trust funds for years and years... So as you can imagine, not too much free time right now. I still feel morally obliged to not pay, but that is another story...

Thanks,
-Pip

PS isn't is nice when we find something we can actually talk about? If I remember, you and I are not too close...

Hey guys, can you cut the OT stuff about gardening unless it relates to growing cannabis or something?

LOL. Ya. Nature loving and plant/animal friendly. That's what my bro-in-law likes to say which translates into "I'm too fuckin' lazy to keep and mow my yard."

That's him, not saying it is you too, just struck me as funny hearing my bro's 'line'.

No hurry on pic's. You can attach them to posts. Elio showed me how once.

Two of my ponds are plastic drop ins. On is 80 gallons, one is 165 gallons, and the big one is approx. 907 gallons. I suck at maths but it's 18ft. X 9.5 X 2.5 (H/W/D) I thinks that's about 907?

I wanted to raise a Sturgeon up to about 4-5 feet long (eatin' size) but too much special care. Oh and also there is that pesky endangered thing.

So it's just cats and carp for now. I'll try to remember to snap some pics again as the ones I did post (if ya could find them, I couldn't) the big one was filled and stocked, but still aestheticly under construction.

Yes, yes it is.

Not to close? No, I think you are in Canada and I'm in south Texas. Lots of milage there.

Unless you meant......

Oh, naw, just because you're crazy and I'm not, you're rich and I'm poor doesn't mean we can't have something in common and be friends. :p

I'm poor and proud of it. What is the term for having to be poor as a religious obligation?
