There is an oncologist from Long Beach who posts here occasionally. He argues that belief in a higher power can be efficacious to recovery. I think his name was something like Lowenstein. Anyone remember him?

No I had it wrong, his name was Larry Weisenthal and he was from Huntington Beach California.
