Monotheism barely exists

"The basis of Christianity: the holy trinity."

So it's based on a contradiction. Not a good start. I feel like they make these religious stories deliberately contrived and impossible, to make the believer feel special for being able to "understand" it. If it was just, "That guy over there is in charge, free tea and coffee" people would get bored and wander off.

This is why we have things like theology of course. It stems from two apparent matters:
  • Since no proposed god has any evidence of being real and only evidence stating the opposite, theists must speak on the god's behave to supplement for its lack of voice.
  • Since scripture is too contrived and contradictory the theists must make failed attempts to rationalize their religion and its scripture.

Heck, the Bible told a whole herd of folks that they were gods.  So maybe we are gods too.

Psalm 82:6-7; John 10:34-38

These are some very interesting scriptures. They promote a form of auto-theism that is very Satanic ironically since modern day Satanists preach this same concept.

It makes a weird king of sense if you were raised Catholic and said rosaries til your tongue went numb.  Smile

It may be very catholic to apply a different label to the treatment of Jehovah and the treatment of the saints, but they're effectively the same thing, really.

If you're asking some invisible people to intercede on your behalf with some other invisible people, then it seems to me that you're praying to all the invisible people involved. If you sing songs praising those invisible people and tell stories about how awesome those invisible people are, how are those different than the worshipful songs and stories proclaimed about that one, special, central invisible person? The only way it makes sense is if you're willing to use a different word for the same thing and then believe they are two different things because the words are different.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

I would define 'god' as anything or anybody you would pray to. Praying to saints/angels would as far as I'm concerned be considered worship, so that they are considered gods.

Maybe god just has Dissociative Identity Disorder?
I reject your reality and substitute my own!
