"Masturbation isn't a victimless crime because the victim is your future spouse, whom god has planned and prepared for you and from whom you are stealing sexy time and stuff "

Jesus, Catholic_Lady, where do you people get this shit? That is the most preposterous thing I've heard since I got here, and that is quite the statement considering some of the shit I've read just today. From you.
You seem to be under the impression that everyone has a "soul mate" out there to whom sex is owed, whether you're with them yet or not. I don't even want to begin thinking about what that implies about consent. This is why it's so scary that Christians want to legislate what others are doing in their sex lives.
Verbatim from the mouth of Jesus (retranslated from a retranslation of a copy of a copy):
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you too will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. How can you see your brother's head up his ass when your own vision is darkened by your head being even further up your ass? How can you say to your brother, 'Get your head out of your ass,' when all the time your head is up your own ass? You hypocrite! First take your head out of your own ass, and then you will see clearly who has his head up his ass and who doesn't." Matthew 7:1-5 (also Luke 6: 41-42)

Yeah...women always over-complicate things.

I seriously want to know if Christians think God gets angry or upset when someone masturbates.
OK that came out creepier than I intended.

The only harm in porn* is that it can smother your own imagination. I wonder what catholic marriage counselors advise?
*Assuming only consenting adults who go into the porn industry for good healthy reasons are used. Hahahahahhahahhah
I definitely don't see sex as merely a physical thing, but as a spiritual and emotional thing as well... though I think in different ways than what you mean here.
I respect your opinion, but I just really don't agree that it's not possible to have those same advantages through actually having sex. If you are together with your spouse for a lifetime and you take your time and practice open and honest communication in the bedroom, I absolutely think you can have all these advantages.
The difference, I think, is between good enough, pedantic love making and becoming a sexual connaisseurship. Not to put too fine a point on it.

(and just to clarify though, i do not believe in soul mates, neither is this any sort of church teaching. i'm also quite sure the Church's pope and other church leaders, as well as the vast majority of Catholics do not want to "legislate" any of this in the form of law lol.)

Lol. Your one liners are hilarious.

Since we believe it is immoral, we believe it definitely doesn't please God lol.
But I do think God understands the struggle (after all, He created us) and has a lot of mercy, especially when people are teenagers and/or not married.

I respect your views and appreciate your insight, my friend. :
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

How nice of you.
Soul mate, future spouse...whatever. It doesn't change the concept I'm describing, which is the idea that you somehow owe it to some nebulous person out there to withhold consent (even from yourself, by yourself) until you've married them. It's the idea that you owe your body to someone other than yourself, and it's disgusting.
Christians absolutely attempt (and often succeed) to pass legislation restricting who people can consentually have sex with, what accoutrements they can use, in what ways they're allowed to protect themselves from disease and unwanted pregnancy, what holes they can stick it in...the list goes on.
Regardless of whether those people are specifically Catholic is beside the point (though I'd be willing to bet at least a few sexually repressive legislators are Catholic). They're still Christians, and they still believe more or less the same oppressive bullshit about sex that you do.

There really can't be much going on in the rest of the universe if God is reduced to following me about, seeing if I'm going to jack off.
He needs to get a hobby.

Oh but remember...he's omnipresent and omnipotent. He can spy on every masturbator at once and still smite all the gays.

Being omnipresent can have its drawbacks. He not only can see me jacking off, he has to see it! Along with every other sex act going on everywhere.
God: "No more! Please! My eyes!"
If God is against porn, he sure watches a lot of it.
Could explain why his aim is so bad these days...

You'd think it'd have something better to do.
But of course, being omnifaceted it both has something and nothing better to do, as well as being gay, straight, and none of the above.
