Xians talk the talk, but most lack any real conviction. The majority of Xians live in areas where being religious is generally acceptable (contrary to Xian's claims otherwise). When you hear a Xian famously make statements like "If it weren't for god I'd be in prison" or "If it weren't got god I don't know where I'd be", they're really talking about the Law. Not god's law, society's law. IOW, they're saying if it weren't for courts, judges, and prison terms they might be kind of a huge dickhole. So if god were to appear and command his people to commit rape and murder most of them wouldn't have the "faith" to follow through. The majority of Xians have lived religious lives with minimal resistance. If someone actually came to arrest them crimes committed in god's name, I think we'd see quite a few Xians backing down, god or no god.

This is one of those questions which highlights the core problems with "religious morality".

If your only standard is God, then you have no grounds to reject anything he says, even if he changes his mind. You can't even say you prefer how things used to be, because that implies some other standard you are using to judge God.

So if the theist says they will refuse, they are admitting to some different form of morality separate from God. If they agree, then they show they are entirely amoral, and have no actual objections to rape and murder themselves; just that God says don't do them (which is debatable).

So they kind of can't answer. I'll be impressed if anyone gives an honest answer.

Circular logic there, what a surprise! And exactly what a lying God would say.

If God has done nothing but lie to everyone, how exactly would we know?

This is why it's so dangerous to accept any authority without question. You devoid yourself of all your humanity and integrity.

And yeah, he does lie, by his own admission, in his own propaganda.

Your precious book can't really make up its mind on that.

Get real and improve your reading skills, none of that says God lied, it does say prophets lied why don't you study and find out the reason behind those verses, to much trouble for you to find the truth, your loss not mine. Parroting what others use to discredit the Bible and not finding if what they say is true shows your lack of attaining the truth.

How do you know it can't happen, do you know the mind of God?

To a point, what He reveals to me. I know He has never been proven to lie, accused by unbelievers who have no idea what they are talking about, yes, but then when they do not understand the scriptures I can only believe they are more interested in harm than truth.
